Social
I wanted to gain one new follower on all of my preclaimed channels in this week. That meant 112 Twitter followers, 54 Pinterest ones, and in 100 Google+ circles. Additionally, I planned to set up Facebook presence.
Sadly, I did not gain new Twitter followers. Nor Pinterest ones. Nor a Google+ ones. I did however sign up for both a Facebook account and Tumblr one. Facebook, because it's a powerhouse (though when I asked around a lot of authors weren't too happy with it), and Tumblr because it's a young place and where a lot of teens hang out. My research led me to learn that Tumblr was a good spot for YA readers. I don't really have either of these accounts properly set up yet, but they now exist.
It's hard being active on social media. What are you posting where, to make sure the content is all unique? What's something I should post as an author vs a fangirl vs my real life accounts? It's a lot to juggle and I'm thinking maybe when these 6 months are over and I figure what's bringing the most traffic to Fulfilling Dreams I'll pick just one or two to be really active on. But for now, I'll cast a wide net. And to help me make sure I'm doing something social on each platform, whenever I open a new Firefox window all the tabs are my author social media profiles.
Here's hoping more active use means more followers.

I set out to find an ESP and settled on MailChimp. Mainly cuz I didn't want to to a huge amount of research into it and just when with what seems most popular ^_~
