Started a new series of posts this week and now have it scheduled all the way through the 11th, so that's good. Still have to write them all, but that will come.
Also got a bit more active on Twitter this week and I think it shows in my numbers. Not only did my follower count grow by two, but my engagement went up 40% compared to the week prior. Social Media Follower Count: Google+ 103 (0) Twitter 128 (+2) Facebook 27 (+1) Pinterest 59 (0) Tumblr 19 (-1) In a similar vein from last week - more visits and increasing links to my website. I'm going to tack on visiting forums to visiting websites too.
Well, in the short of it, I failed this week. I did post more to social media than I have in the past, but I didn't visit any other author blogs all week. I'm such a bad person.
Social Media Follower Count: Google+ 103 (+1) Twitter 126 (+2) Facebook 26 (+1) Pinterest 59 (0) Tumblr 20 (0) Gardner's Guide is telling me this week is all about link building. I'm familiar with the concept, this isn't my first website nor my first year, and I know where most of my current links come from - blogspot, goodreads, and blogger. They all come from my interactions with other sites and the automatic publishing on GR I set up my blog with.
As such, I'm going to try this week to visit other blogs every day, instead of once a week. The keywords of the links help a lot too, so next time I'm in a blog hop and leave my link in my comment and not just in the profile field I'll have to make sure I choose those wisely. Gardner suggests contacting blogs that have linked to me and ask to have the anchor text changed. A quick check of the two most individual blogs linking back to me show it's my name (or rather, pen name), which I'm okay with. Still, I need more linking opportunities. I have noticed that when I do a Top Ten post in the Broke and the Bookish's meme I get new visitors and comments. I should do those more often. So yeah, more blog visits this week. Good thing the schedule somehow has me as not working this week. |
